Bouteflika’s program: to reinforce stability
The program of Abdelaziz Bouteflika, a candidate for the presidential elections due to be held in April will expose the result of the three five-year-plans and the man axes for the next five year plan.
Bouteflika’s program suggests a new charter to consolidate development and progress under the slogan ‘together for tomorrow’s Algeria, for a better future for everyone.’
The next five year plan is based on five main objectives: reinforcing stability, anchoring peaceful democracy, valorizing human resources in a rational way, building an emerging economy as part of sustainable development approach and reinforcing social solidarity mechanisms.
The program stressed the necessity of reinforcing national identity components: Islam, Tamazight language and Arabic. It rejects political exploitation of any of those components and extremism.
Bouteflika is committed to focus on reindustrialization, creating jobs and supporting production.
He also plans to reform 1 million hectares in high lands and southern Algeria. The State’s agricultural sector contribution would be raised to 300 billion DZ from 200 billion DZ in the next five years. Energy and mines sector and a green economy will be developed.
The program also includes the completion of national housing projects including the AADL, promotional, social and rural housing programs.
Bouteflika plans to reach an annual growth average estimated at more than 7 percent in order to reduce unemployment and promote living standards.
