Chairman of the Nation’s Council Abdelkader Bensaleh Monday said the reformation of the Arab League is an important challenges for Arab nations.

“The reformation of the Arab League will add efficiency to our common actions and enable it to adapt to current Arab needs. It will also enable us to face new challenges to promote our Arab action to serve our national issues,” said Bensaleh in an address in Nouakchott.

“Due to regional and international conditions in the Arab region, there is a need for a common strategic vision to handle political, security, economic and social issues. Of them, there is terror scourge,” he added.

He also said the international community should unify efforts to face terror organizations as part of an international strategy led by the UN.

He added that Algeria had faced terror for a decade by itself. It has always warned against this phenomenon and adopted a comprehensive approach to face it.

Speaking about the Palestinian cause, Bensaleh said it remains Algeria’s top priority. “The Israeli occupation violates human rights and turns a deaf ear to the international legitimacy.

“Algeria calls on the UN and the international community to bear their responsibilities and put pressure on the occupying forces to respect all the international legitimacy resolutions,” he added.
