Algerian businessman Achour Ben Abderrahmane is expected to appear shortly before a criminal court in Algiers for damaging investigation-related documents and public money embezzlement.

  • Achour Ben Abderrahmane is accused of embezzling about 2,300 billion centimes from BNA bank .He was deported from Morocco to Algeria, two years ago.
  • He has always insisted on his innocence, saying he collected his money by his own efforts.
  • In 2008, he passed the baccalaureate exam and enrolled at the University of Law.  
  • The criminal session set to be held at a court in Algiers Between April 12 and June, will deal with a considerable number of terror-related cases. A total of 56 suspects involved in Algeria’s April 11 attacks will appear in court. The rest of the suspects including Abdelmalek Droudkel were killed by security forces.
  • Two Mauritanians will also appear in court in two separated cases. The first one is arrested and will be sentenced for the first time for belonging to a terrorist group. The second Mauritanian will be sentenced along with 26 other suspects. Of them, 15 are arrested for terror acts, theft and counterfeiting.
