Catch-up session for Baccalaureate exam in some subjects starting from 2015
The Minister of national education Abdellatif Baba Ahmed has announced the projected introduction of a catch-up session for Baccalaureate exam -BAC- for some subjects in which candidates will get marks ranging between 9 and 9.99/ 20, starting from next year 2015.
Mr Baba Ahmed said during a visit Monday to the south-eastern province of Djelfa, that such a decision also concerned those pupils who secured annual school marks above the 10 average, while revealing a project to review the use of the make-up card of the BAC examination.
He also announced a set of measures to strengthen the remedial lessons at various educational adding that the national education ministerial department was considering the opening soon of 13 training institutes for the benefit of pupils, from all cycles taken together, with the aim of upgrading the learning level of the pupils and drastically curtailing the school drop-out rate.
Meanwhile, well-informed sources told Echorouk that the Ministry of the Interior and local assemblies had instructed the National Education Ministry to vacate educational institutions by turning them into voting centers starting from Tuesday evening the 15th April until the 18th of April and to ensure the demobilization of all school-children by putting them a compulsory holiday for a period of 4 days on account of the upcoming polling operations in Algeria slated for April 17 2014.
