Chaara Association: “Ramadan Crescent Visibility Is A Lie”

Physics Professor, Djemel Mimouni, at Mentouri University in Constantine (eastern Algeria), head of Achaara Association and vice president of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, told Echorouk, about the Declaration of the Committee on Ramadan Crescent Visibility in the cities of Sidi Bel Abbes and Chlef (western Algeria): “I’m astonished about a nation that rejects science, it’s a disaster by all standards, I do not understand why they did not see in our country what they should see, and in the moon of Ramadan they believe in the impossible, because they do not recognize the science. I challenge anyone in Chlef and Sidi Bel Abbes if he/she saw the real Crescent.”

Chaara Association told Echorouk, in an earlier statement by its chairman, Dr. Djamal Mimouni, that the month of Ramadan begins on Monday mathematically, but the vision with the naked eye is impossible in the entire Algerian territory, and in all Arab countries except with the region of Sudan.

In contrast, he praised the Indonesian way, which will be followed by the Muslim world sooner or later and will make it a model, through the use of the simple CCD camera, a method that is not approved by the scholars of the East and the Gulf, but it is useless, as they can watch the Crescent after conjugations in the day, as they are assembling what they see and enlarged it for a clearer picture, and the adoption of an astronomical calculations, as it is the case in Turkey, Balkan countries and Muslim communities in Europe, which makes us avoid such behaviours, a claim of seeing and science confirms the impossibility of this, as it urged in previous years, and the Sunday evening proved that it is an alleged vision.

Chaara Association said in a statement, since a week, that is impossible to the moon of Ramadan, either with the simple eye or with the telescope, in the whole national territory and in the Arab Gulf, and said that the account will drag the Islamic nation to begin the fasting on Monday, but if we rely on the vision and crescents, the vision will be impossible, which means that the fasting should have been started on Tuesday, as was the case in Morocco and Oman.
