Chinese, Algerian enterprises seek to expand business cooperation

(Xinhua/Zheng Bin) A Chinese trade delegation and representatives from Algerian companies met here Sunday seeking further cooperation in areas such as infrastructure construction, machine building, finance, service and agriculture.

• Wan Jifei, president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and also a member of the delegation, said after meeting with Algerian trade officials that the Chinese companies had taken part in important construction projects in Algeria and had done a satisfactory job where timing and quality of the projects were concerned.
• Although the global economy was still affected by many uncertainties at present, China always kept its pledge to promote trade in developing countries, especially in African countries, Wan said. China gave underdeveloped African countries more support in duty exemption, fund raising and loans. The CCPIT encouraged Chinese companies to invest in Africa and to expand training of the African management staff and personnel in chambers of commerce and industry.

  Algeria had signed cooperation agreements with the European Union, the United States and Arab countries, an Algerian trade official said, and Chinese companies might take the opportunity to invest more in order to cover more market shares in those regions.

  The Chinese economic and trade delegation visited Algeria after attending a Sino-African entrepreneurs conference in Egpyt.
