Chinese Ambassador: “We Count on President Tebboune Amid the New Algeria’s Tangible Progress”
The re-election of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for a second term is clear evidence of the “great appreciation he enjoyed from the Algerian people since he assumed the presidency in 2019, and the desire to move towards a new Algeria”, The Chinese ambassador to Algeria, Li Jian, said.
Diplomat Li Jian listed the achievements made during the first term of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the reception on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, on Sunday evening, at the Palace of Culture in Algiers.
He explained that “Algeria succeeded in holding the presidential elections, where an overwhelming majority re-elected President Tebboune… His government was determined to achieve reforms and enhance the efficiency of government administration while advancing economic diversification, improving the business environment, protecting citizens’ livelihoods, and restoring the status of Algerian diplomacy.”
The ambassador addressed attendances of the Palace of Culture, including ambassadors and national figures from various sectors, stressing that “the new Algeria has made tangible progress domestically and internationally, with wide acclaim from the international community, and it seems that it has found its path towards modernization, which suits its national conditions. This approach is expected to continue during the second presidential term.”
The ambassador confirmed that his country is determined to work with the Algerian authorities in all aspects; “During President Tebboune’s second term, China looks forward to deepening cooperation with Algeria, implementing the ten China-Africa partnerships, strongly supporting Algeria in playing a greater role in international and regional affairs, and also implementing the important achievements reached between the two countries’ presidents, to encourage Chinese investment in Algeria, enhance bilateral financial cooperation, and contribute to the development of areas such as digitization, industrialization, and modern agriculture in Algeria.”
“The cooperation also aims to accelerate major projects such as the Western Minerals Railway Project and the Bechar-Tindouf-Ghaa Djebilet Project, in addition to importing more Algerian agricultural products and enhancing the trade balance between the two countries. All these efforts will raise the level of the strategic partnership between China and Algeria,” Jian added.
