Chinese-Australian Investors Launch Works on Lead, Zink Mine in Bejaia
Sonarem Group CEO, Mohamed Sakhr Harami, received the CEOs of the Australian company “Terramin” and the Chinese “Sinosteel”, the main partners in the construction of the zinc and lead complex in the Wilaya of Bejaia (eastern Algiers).
During this tripartite meeting, which was attended by the advisor to the Minister of Energy and Mines, the CEO of Sonarem Group reviewed this strategic project and the methods of its rapid completion.
Following this meeting, the tripartite delegation proceeded to conduct a field visit to the construction site where they inspected the start of work on the project’s facilities at the base of the WMZ company responsible for managing the lead and zinc project.
The tripartite delegation listened to the interventions of the mayors of Amizour and Tala Hamza, who presented the process of notifying the expropriation notices to the owners of the lands concerned by the project. These concerns were raised to the higher authorities.
