Cold wave grips homeless people in Algeria

The Algerian League for Human Rights Defence called on central and local authorities to take care of homeless people to face cold wave in Algeria.
“The Algerian League for Human Rights defence calls on provincial commissions in different departments to offer all the necessary human and physical means to take care of homeless people,” it said in a release.
“The national solidarity ministry should offer shelters for those people and not only hot meals, blankets and food in winter,” it added.
It also said that “thousands of people suffer as they are homeless. Concerned departments turned their back on them.”
The human rights organization held the “government and civil society responsible for the lack of care for homeless and poor people.”
