Counter Terrorism Is Germany's Justification To Deport Algerians

Berlin’s Interior Minister, Ulrich Maurer, called on his country’s central authorities to deport all foreigners who are accused of terrorism, a “breakthrough” that Berlin may use to deport hundreds of Algerians who are residing illegally on its territory and who receive rejection to asylum by the German authorities.

Maurer plans to put forward an initiative at the level of state interior ministers to make the deportation of immigrants who are dangerous security according to the federal authorities, the London-based daily Asharq al-Awsat reported on Sunday, explaining that the current system is ineffective.

German authorities currently classify about 700 people as dangerous on security. 

“State Department and the Interior Federal Ministry must take the procedure of deporting the dangerous illegal immigrants as soon as the local administrative court determines their legal deportation procedures, referring to the experience of Bremen province that has been involved in a long-term security-related deportation procedure which is involving a 36-year-old Algerian and an 18-year-old Russian, who are placed in the deportation prison since mid-March.

German official said he was concerned about the negotiations between the German Foreign Ministry and the country that would repatriate the deportees, such as Algeria, adding that the Federal Administrative Court and the Supreme Constitutional Court are considering the case of the Algerian, who is currently in the deportation prison, and made commitments to the Algerian authorities to the protection of the Algerian illegal immigrant pending his deportation to homeland.
