Crash kills 15 members of one family
Authorities say a bus and a half-tonne truck collided in western Algeria, killing 15 members of a single family who were on the bus heading to the beach.

Police say in a statement that the truck driver was also killed and that four children were among the dead. It was not known whether there anyone else was hurt.

Police are investigating the cause of Saturday’s collision about 650km west of the capital, Algiers.

Police say an average of 40 people are killed each week in road accidents in this North African country. Human error, bad roads and decrepit vehicles are cited as the main causes of the high number of road fatalities.
