Customs Seize Containers Of Contaminated Cast-Offs In Algiers Port

Customs authorities of Algiers port foiled an attempt to bring in three containers that are imported from China worth $ 150,000 a container, that are packed with contaminated cast-off clothes, which infected some customs agents who supervised the inspection with allergies due to bad smells.

Details of the operation, according to Echorouk source, are back to Sunday, following the reception of confirmed information to the Customs Department Inspectorate at Algiers Port’s Trade Department, about the attempt to introduce containers of cast-off clothes for women and men, especially for the summer, then they subjected all the containers that were imported from Spain for a thorough inspection, and two containers of 40 feet and three of 20 feet were packed with old clothes, and each container was camouflaged with a small amount of new shoes, and during the preview of the clothing labels, it was found that they are Spanish and Italian.
In the case of these banned goods that were imported from China, it was already announced that they are related to new ready-made clothes, according to the same source, noting that the surveillance allowed to detect the fraud.
