Court of Mostaghanem, western Algeria, sentenced a woman “B.N” 34 to death penalty on Sunday, on charges of kidnapping a child under three called Nadia Belmokhtar, and killing her after torture.

On July 2013, the woman who lived with her son and the victim’s family in Kadous medah district in the city of Mostaghanem (western Algeria), kidnapped the little girl and killed her under torture, and deforming her dead body inside a plastic bag.

Killer’s son was taken to the center of childhood in Sidi Belabbes (western Algeria).

After three hours of the trial, which attracted a large number of lawyers and citizens, including the victim’s neighbors, the killer tried to prove that she is not guilty by refuting the charges  of kidnapping and inertial murder with premeditation, in an attempt to mislead the court’s council, but all the indices and evidences in the reports of the judicial authorities and the neighbors’ testimonies, proved her implication in the murder.

Details of the crime which chocked the city on last holy month of Ramadan, especially as the ugly murder coincided with a series of child kidnappings, and murder in more than a city in Algeria, forced the citizens to ask about the necessity to apply the sharia law, as they organized a large protest after the burial of the child Nadia, calling upon justice to apply death penalty against the woman who killed her.
