Desert Foxes to play the quarter-final without warnings

Algeria’s team will enter the final quarters without fear as the African Federation decided to cancel the yellow cards that were given to the Algerian players in the first round. 

• The five players who received yellow cards are satisfied as they will play freely without fear or threat of getting another warning that may cause his absence from the next match.

• Ziani, Halliche, Belhadj, Yebda and Aifaoui got yellow cards during the three matches of the first round, thing which was an obstacle for playing the next match using full potential.

• The African Federation “CAF” has declared that the article 5, paragraph n° 2 of the CAF law provides that every player who received only one warning during the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola will play the quarter-final games without any warnings. However, players who got two warning or a red card during the matches of the first round will be barred from playing the matches of the quarter-final automatically.

• Algerian team will include all its players except for Bezzaz who will remain absent, and Metmour who suffers injury at his leg, however, this will not bring him out of the game.
