DGSN: Women to be promoted to high-ranking posts
DGSN Chief Ali Tounsi
According to the Director General of the national police services, Ali Tounsi, the female element within the DGSN will be promoted shortly to senior posts on the occasion of an upcoming reshuffle within this security body.

Mr Ali Tounsi made the announcement on the sidelines of a ceremony of promotion for police officers organized at the Chateuneuf police high school in upper Algiers.

He indicated that a specialized commission would select shortly the most suitable female candidates for this senior post of responsibility.

2 or 3 high-ranking posts within the national police services will be earmarked for women, he asserted.

MR Ali Tounsi further said that the DGSN now comprises a total of 155.000 policemen. 6% of them are women.

He encouraged, in this respect, policewomen to persevere and to forge ahead in expectation of further incentives and meritorious promotions.
