Dismantling Of Ring Involved In Theft And International Smuggling Of Cars In Tipaza Province

The judicial police force of the urban security services in Chaibia in coordination with the security services of the Koléa constituency and the search and intervention security squad of the province of Tipaza, have dismantled a criminal gang consisting of five individuals involved in car theft at the national level and international smuggling of cars.

The latter confiscated in the process of in-depth investigations, 19 stolen luxury cars worth 7 billion centimes (DA), in addition to forged administrative documents and mobile phones.

According to the head of the communication cell, First Lieutenant,   Bouraâda Ismail,  the smashing of the smuggling ring  came in the wake of extensive searches and investigations carried out by the combined security services for four months after receiving the relevant information.

The latter secured information about  the existence of forged cars’ documents and serial numbers and the ensuing security forces’ operation allowed the identification of those involved in the stealing of various cars, in the forging of gray cards and serial numbers hailing from the provinces of Tipaza, Blida and Algiers.

Following the extension of the legal jurisdiction, the security services conducted raids at the level of the central provinces and were able to seize 19 vehicles of various international brands, worth about 7 billion centimes (DA), some of them are wanted by Interpol as well as several trucks for the transport of goods and refrigeration, in addition to forged gray cards and a raft of mobile phones. 

All the members of the gang were arrested and were brought on Wednesday before the Attorney General at the Court of Koléa inTipaza province.
