Djebbour and Ghezzal pair the remedy for Algeria offensive inefficiency, Assad
Former Algeria ace of the eighties, Saleh Assad, said the national squad is able to impose a positive result against Morocco in the second leg of 2012 CAN qualifiers, in Marrakech Stadium, should the players are prepared mentally, physically and tactically, pointing out that coach Abdelhak Benchikha should line up Ghazzal and Djebbour pair in the offensive line.
“There’s nothing called ‘impossible’ in football, and I think the national squad is able to return home with a win over Morocco, in case they were well prepared tactically and mentally. And I think most players are playing regularly with their clubs, which is a positive point,” the Desert Foxes’ former ace said.
Former winger of French Melouse and Paris Saint-Germain further added that “scheduling the derby in Marrakech Stadium will be in favour of the Greens, as there would be less tension, comparing with Casa Blanca Stadium, while pressure will be on Moroccan players who are required by their fans to win.”
As for the inefficiency of the Greens’ offensive line, Assad said: “Well, that problem depends on many factors, including the short and rare training camps,” adding that “the real problem lies in the lack of offensive dynamism and the way players are deployed on the pitch, and I think it’s up to the coach to fix this problem.”
Concerning the best offensive combination, Algeria former ace said: “I think Ghezzal (Italy’s Bari striker) and Djebbour (Greece’s Olympiakos striker) compose together the best offensive pair, for they both enjoy required skills and speed, mostly as they are supported behind by playmaker Karim Ziani and Karim Matmour on the wing.”
Assad is also famous by his footage shows, as he was the first player to master “The Elastic” trick, later made famous by Ronaldinho and Ronaldo of Brazil.
