“Droudkel” seeks to recruit foreigners in his GSPC terrorist group
Available data about the recent terrorist attacks, east of Algeria, show that the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat or Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb under the leadership of Abdelmalek Droudkel (Abou Mosab Abdelouadoud) recruited foreign terrorists for its terrorist attacks, particularly Libyans and Moroccans, reflecting the small number of terrorists operating in the east of Algeria, where the army troops killed, last January, two terrorists in Biskra, one of them being a Moroccan and the second a Libyan “Aziz Echikani†known as “Yousef†, living in Tandja, who had been wanted by the security services since 2006, as well as the so called “Abdellali Chairiâ€.

Previously, media sources reported that foreign terrorists, including Libyans were killed in combing military operations by the Algerian forces after terrorists killed 8 soldiers in an ambush in Mezria, south east of Biskra.

Today, GSPC is using the same strategy as the former GIA under the leadership of “Djamel Zitouni” and later by “Antar Zawabiri”, who recruited many foreigners before the demise of the terrorist group which found itself unable to persuade Algerians to join its ranks.

-
The same situation now faces Droudkel after he was betting on those Maghreb foreigners, who joined the GSPC under Al Qaeda’s cover, according to confessions made by many arrested terrorists.

Droudkel is seeking, through the presence of Maghreb terrorists in its ranks, to confirm that the GSPC is a Maghreb regional group AQIM, but the latter failed to spread its activity beyond the Algerian borders and stayed in its traditional strongholds, which explains the involvement of these foreigners in terrorist attacks particularly east of Algeria.
