Droukdel ordered suicide bombers to target 7 hot spots in Algiers, terrorist's revelations
The mastermind of suicide attacks that hit Algiers in recent years, Bouderbal Fatah, alias Abu Bassir, 39, has been referred to Algiers Criminal Court for trial. Abu Bassir is chief of squadron of the centre which stands behind the assassination of a lot of elements of security services in Bouira province and the suicide
attacks that targeted the constitutional court and UN bureau in Hydra.
He was arrested in Reghaia suburb, eastern Algiers, carrying a Beretta automatic gun, falsified driving licence, falsified police badge, and a load of video records of suicide bombing attacks.
The terrorist revealed the existence of two secret cachets in Reghaia suburb and Thnia locality in Boumerdes province, where investigators have put hands on a load of explosives, the PV of his installation as chief of Ithkhan squadron, a rocket-launcher, and two bomb wallets.
The defendant further revealed that he joined terror fiefs in 1993, adding that Droukdel ordered him to plot suicide attacks in Algiers by using car-bomb.
He said that his squadron, and after bombing the constitutional court and the UN bureau, targeted to perpetuate suicide attacks against several strategic points, including the African Union antiterrorism centre, the national library, Echorouk headquarters, Army Hotel, Chateauneuf Police Academy, and Canada Embassy in Algiers.
