Drug trafficking itinerary from Morocco to Egypt through Algeria revealed by security forces

Investigations carried out with the drug dealers who were arrested by the border guards of the province of Bechar (southern Algeria) last year, revealed that several tons of the seized narcotics quantities were destined to be smuggled to the Middle East passing through Mauritania or Libya to reach Egypt, but not for the local market.

• The itinerary of the smugglers was spotted by the security forces after tightening security around the traffickers operating zone, who were moving in different directions to slip past the security guard, especially that the desert region is hard to control on account of its vastness which makes it the privileged destination of the dealers .
• The drug dealers who operate in the south west region were forced by the security device deployed by the security forces to smuggle their “High quality” drug using trucks coming from Morocco bound to the east through several routes stretching from southern Bechar passing by Al Oued (east south) until the Libyan borders to reach their final destination Egypt, security source revealed.
• The smugglers revealed that they were closely collaborating with terrorist groups operating in the desert region counting elements from the “Hooded” squad under the command of Mokhtar Belmokhtar .
