A host of Algerian University Professors, specialists in history have advocated the launch of an in-depth scientific research, accompanied by well-documented historical information, to be meant as the best response to the French writer, “Feriel Foran” the granddaughter of “Si Bouaziz Bengana,” who was one of the most dangerous Bachaghas and one of the most powerful agents of colonial France during the latter’s brutal occupation of Algeria.

“Furiel Furon” wanted, through the publication of a history-distorting book called: “Si Bouaziz Bengana, the Last King of the Zibans” and which touched off a large-scale controversy in Algeria, notably through social networks, to “cleanse” the vile image of her sinister grand-father who had horrendously served the barbaric French colonial yoke in Algeria in his time by committing heinous crimes against Algerian resistance fighters.

For many historians and history researchers, the glorification of certain figures and the role they played during the period of the Algerian revolution, does not reflect the true reality experienced at the time of the barbarous and destructive French  colonization.

The countless opponents of the coming and media coverage of Feriel Furon believe that her grandfather, the sinister harki “Bachagha Bengana” whom she praised in her book, directly participated in the massacre of many Algerian resistance fighters against the colonial yoke in Biskra, notably by cutting the ears of dead Algerian insurgents and awfully presenting them to the colonial Administrator of the region of the time.

It should also be noted that for his “good and loyal” services towards the barbarous French colonial yoke in Algeria, the sinister “Bachagha Bengana” was decorated with fifteen military medals including “Legion of Honor” with rank of Commander and the “Colonial Medal”.

Several historians stressed in statements to “Echorouk” as a reaction that one shouldn’t turn Ferial Foran’s book larger than its midget size, because there isn’t any particular interest in it as this dubious publication, grossly distorting historical facts, could contribute, if highlighted, to the dissemination of destructive and warped ideas among the components of the Algerian society
