Echorouk in London: Britain Ready, Dreams of Safe Olympic Games
With less than 130 days until Britain hosts the Olympic Games in London planned between 27 and 12 August, the UK will reach an advanced stage of preparations to host the largest event in the world, as works move rapidly in order to receive more than nine million visitors during summer 2012.
Number of tourists is expected to reach over 33 million during 2012, after it reached 30 million last year.
Some organizers told Echorouk in Britain that they are keen to realize a festive and carnival atmosphere on the event, in order to gain admiration of those who will attend the event.
Giant screens will be also installed in the various British towns and cities to give the opportunity for everyone to enjoy excitement and enthusiasm during the games.
Britain plans to launch other celebrations after the end of the Olympic Games, including cultural to reflect Britain’s successful organization for which its government allocated £9.3 billion, the equivalent of $14.6 billion, and could reach over £11 billion due to the intensification of security measures.
The Olympic Games will notice the deployment of anti-aircrafts missiles in the south east of London in order to counter any terrorist attack through the air that may target London’s Olympic joy.
Over 13.000 soldiers and armed elements, belonging to the Special Forces, wearing civilians’ cloths and snipers, will be deployed, along with 20.000 security guards from the private sector, in order to provide security and comfort for all participants, including athletes and tourists.
The Olympic Games’ Organization Commission also prepares deterrent measures to combat manipulation of the results during the competitions, and sports interviews as well from July 27 to August 12.
Various committees oriented for that purpose will follow up the details of this important event as not to lose the games credibility, and will be keen to undergo 6250 tests to detect steroids, a figure announced by the International Agency for Anti-Doping, which intended to attain during London Olympics 2012, sending a warning to all athletes who will be participating in the event.
