Echourokonline becomes the primary source for the Egyptian media

The online version of Echourouk newspaper, “ Echourokonline” has become the primary source of news for the Algerian and Egyptian readers alike as concerns the Algeria squad latest developments.

• The Egyptian newspapers are simply relying on Echourokonline to publish their own articles on the Algerian fans and their national squad and even use its photos to illustrate these articles.
• The most striking example was the use of Echourokonline’s exclusive photo of the Algerian players during the first day of their training camp at the Italian center of Covercianno. The photo was widely relayed by the Egyptian newspapers because simply they couldn’t do otherwise to illustrate their articles.
• When you stroll in the Egyptian streets you don’t need to disclose the identity of the newspaper you are writing for because people there have only one reference which is “Echourok”.
• Some of them consider it the main cause behind the conflict that broke out between the countries’ fans and the media uproar that worsened the situation, while others acknowledged the extraordinary campaign of appeasement to ease tension between the two countries initiated by the same newspaper.
• A faithful reader of Echourok newspaper, who goes b the name of Amine, insisted to sit on the same table at a café to exchange a discussion with us. He admitted that he was reading the newspaper online on everyday basis, and was aware of all the articles.
•  He didn’t miss this opportunity to ask us about a photo showing the Egyptian players with female movie stars faces that sparked a wave of controversy among the Egyptian media especially some zealous satellite TV channels that ascribed it to Echourok.
• When we convinced him that our newspaper was not responsible for this photo and it was the deed of another Algerian media, but the Egyptian channels aimed at discrediting our newspaper, he acknowledged that as a regular reader he has never seen this photo on Echourok.
• Estimates released by “Alexa” revealed that Echourokonline is “flirting” with the 300 position among thousands of websites in Egypt. The reason behind this extraordinary achievement is manly due to the fervour of the fans from both sides around the crucial match between Egypt and Algeria slated for November14.
