Education ministry to punish the protesters

A court in Algiers has summoned the teachers who went on strike to stop their movement immediately and resume work after one day of protest.

• Reliable sources revealed that the ministry of education has ordered its departments in different corners of the country to force the personnel to resume work and apply the sanctions decided by the relevant authorities on the protesters.

• In reaction to this decision, the Union for education Personnel in charge of Communication General Secretary, M Amraoui has declared that his union was not aware of any legal suit against them.

• He said” We were surprised by this decision taken in absentia while we were supposed to be part of this decision and would have given us a chance to give our arguments”.

• Reports released by the different Union branches scattered over the provinces, revealed that the movement was widely followed by the educational institutions,  17 provinces registered a rate of 90% .
