Education: Sources among pupils confirm that protesters are on grade retention
Pupils’ protests was expected as a reaction to the teachers’ strike, which lasted four weeks, sources close to the Education Minister, Baba Ahmed Abdellatif, said.
Dates of official exams are not as important as the pupils’ reception of complete studies during the season. Majority of pupils who refused to join schools are on grade retention”.
“Education Minister’s aim is to allow students to receive complete studies during the school year, because the BAC graduation is an international and decisive success, therefore, its credibility should be preserved. Majority of pupils who refused to join schools repeated the year and will sit for the BAC exam for the second time, because they already got a complete program last year, therefor, they take advantage of these tough circumstances to pressurize the Education Ministry, on the grounds that the rest of pupils who will sit for the BAC for their first time, returned to the schools and are convinced that it is very necessary to take advantage of the precious time for the knowledge and good preparation of exams, and let the task of fixing the pedagogical threshold for the services that are specialized in this field.
