Education Unions challenge authorities and prolong their strike
Both the National Union of the Education Personnel and the Independent National Committee of High School Teachers have called on the teaching profession to carry on their protest movement awaiting the outcome of the UNPEF meeting slated for today and the CNAPSET one for the day after tomorrow, in the wake of the governmental decision to sack the protesters.

The two independent Unions have lambasted the government’s move to dismiss the strikers and replace them with new teachers, regarding the decision as an attempt to “ yield and despise the education personnel and in a move to hush up their legitimate claims”.

The Unions are resilient to continue their protest movement as a long as the ministry is still sticking to its line.

For his part, the president of the UNPEF Union Sadek Dziri has declared to Echourok” The National Council in its quality as the supreme body of the Union, has called on the strike and is the one and only party eligible to decide on stopping in the light of the different provinces’ report”, indicating that the Union didn’t receive a formal notice from justice to stop their protest movement.
