Egypt wants to play against Algeria in Eskandaria

Egypt’s football federation is thinking of holding the qualifying match between Algeria and Egypt in Eskandaria stadium on November 14, said an official at the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).

  • “The Egyptian federation and coach Hassan Chahata are seriously thinking of holding the match in Eskandaria staduium in an attempt to put pressure on the Algerian players,” the official told Echorouk.

  • “The benches of this stadium are very close to the pitch,” he added.

  • The federation and Hassan Chahata are looking for any way to put pressure on the Algerian players and qualify to the World Cup.

  • Though Egypt’s fans are hoping to receive the Algerian players in Cairo stadium but the Egyptian football officials focus on a non-sportive way to beat Algeria.

  • All it seems that the Egyptian federation has fears about a possible chock if its team looses the match in Cairo stadium. Because of that, it is looking for another stadium.

  • “The Algerian team is ready to play against Egypt in any stadium selected by the Egyptian Football Federation,” said the same source.

  • “Algeria will accept playing the match even in Upper Egypt,” FAF’s official added.

  • 2,000 tickets for Algeria fans

  • FAF’s head Mohamed Raouraoua Friday got the Egyptian federation’s approval to offer 2,000 tickets to the Algerian fans ahead of the decisive match.

  • Algerians fans are expected to go to Cairo on November 1st in an attempt to accompany their team to the World Cup due to be held in South Africa.
