Egyptian hackers launch cyber attack on “echoroukonline”
Egyptian hackers launched last night a cyber attack on “echoroukonline”, the website of the Algerian newspaper Echorouk Al Yaoumi by undermining its content and posting on the site's frontpage slogans in favour of the Egyptian national football squad and their coach “Hassan Chehata”.
-
Replying to this most blameworthy act, Algerian and Moroccan hackers shortly invested the website of the Egyptian information Ministry and posted on it a statement saying that the move was “a settling of scores” in reprisal for the unwarranted and reprehensible act committed by the Egyptian hackers against “echoroukonline”.

This counter-attack by the Algerian and Moroccan hackers occurred just a few minutes after the Egyptian hackers’ intrusion into the website of the newspaper Echorouk Al Yaoumi.

-
However, shortly after this cyber attack, Echorouk’s technical staff succeeded in restoring order on the newspaper’s website swiftly but on the Egyptian side, things proved to be more intricate as the hacked web site of the Egyptian Information Ministry remained offline on account of the “crushing and multi-pronged” counter-attack launched by the Algerian and Moroccan hackers.

-
Observers note that the Egyptian hackers’ foiled attempt to undermine Echorouk’s website is part of “a psychological war” spearheaded by certain embittered and ill-advised circles in Egypt against the Algerians following the recent scatting defeat (3-1) suffered by the Egyptian national football squad in Blida versus Algeria as part of the combined qualifiers for the 2010 World cup and Africa cup of nations competitions.
-
-
Be that as it may, the newspaper Echorouk strongly denounces this blameworthy act having targeted its website “echoroukonline” and calls for the stringent enforcement of the law in order to put an end, once and for all, to these kind of cyber-criminal practices.
