Egyptian lawyers burn the Algerian flag overtly

Algerian lawyers have staunchly denounced the dangerous and unprecedented ignoble act carried out by their Egyptian counterparts which consists in burning the Algerian flag overtly, considering the deed as a mere violation of the Algerian sovereignty.

• The lawyer Omar Mehdi considers the act could have been excused if perpetrated by immature and zealous youngsters “ but coming from lawyers who are supposed to be aware of the international laws and the countries liberties as well as the limits that could be crossed, let me tell you that this is extremely dangerous and we have witnessed an unprecedented act in the Arab and western nations’ history alike”.

• For his part, the lawyer Hamdini Ammar has indicated that the Algerian flag is part of the nation’s symbols and its violation means the violation of the Algeria adding that even the Muslim religion doesn’t allow such blatant shows declaring” As lawyers, we denounce this ignominy carried out by our colleagues, at the time where they were supposed to raise their citizens’ awareness we were surprised to see that they were doing the same menial things and we are not going to let things pass”.

• He went on saying that his union has already denounced the barbarous acts perpetrated by the Egyptians before the match in Khartoum “ at the very moment where the Algeria squad was attacked by stones in Cairo, we have considered it as a violation against the Algerian flag and the country’s sovereignty because the national team represents the Algerian flag”.
