Egyptians strip Algerian players of “Fighters” title

Egypt Wednesday made a great achievement by defeating Burkinafaso and qualifying to the final of the African Cup of Nations 2017.

Egyptian press was unanimous on saying that players were “fighters.” Goalkeeper Issam El Hadary was brilliant in penalties. The Egyptian success secret was a mixture of will power and fighting.

The “fighters” is a name attributed to Algeria’s players since Oum Dermane historic match. 

Egyptian member of Parliament Mustapha El Jundi said the players were “real fighters.”

Egyptian newspapers published the photo of El Hadary’s mother and quoted her saying that her son is a “fighter.”

Guests in a talk show on beIN Sports were unanimous on saying that the Egyptian players were “fighters” as they reached the final.

Algerians believe that national players will not have the title of “fighters” as they failed in many matches and did not show any resistance.
