Eid El Fitr in Algeria : Fraternity and solidarity mixed with Joyful celebrations

In Algeria, Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated in a party atmosphere with fraternity and solidarity gestures.

• After a month of fasting, Algiers population is celebrating Eid ul-Fitr according to the customs handed down from generation to generation through the ritual visits paid to relatives, to patients in hospitals, to cemeteries where they stay some time in silent contemplation at their relations’ graves, and exchanges of cakes prepared especially for that occasion.

• Early in the morning, worshippers joined mosques to pray and show gratitude towards Allah Almighty, as well as compassion, tolerance and solidarity towards each other.
