Algerian health minister said Barkat held an emergency meeting with pandemic experts on Sunday after three people died of H1N1 virus in Algeria, Echorouk has learnt.

  •
  • The meeting was about new preventive measures in schools, universities, prisons and military barracks as the swine flu reached a killing degree.
  •
  • Some experts suggested that parents should take their children to doctors when they have fever. They also suggested to organise new training sessions for teachers and students and to reinforce awareness-raising campaigns through media.
  •
  • Algeria reported its first death cases because of the pandemic last week while medical experts say the number of swine flu cases is increasing in Algeria. Some 247 cases are confirmed.
  •
  • The government allocated 16 million medical masks and more than 6.5 million units of Tamiflu to face the pandemic.
