In their latest provocation, the French authorities have targeted Algerian travelers with unethical practices such as deliberately reducing public services to the lowest level in order to antagonize Algerians.

According to the testimonies of some travelers holding Algerian passports, they were subjected to racist treatment at the Paris airport. Authorities at French airports close all the offices as soon as Algerian travelers arrive, leaving only one office for Algerians, with screening procedures that sometimes take longer than usual.

Some victims have described this treatment as “punitive abuse. This is the kind of practice that French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, who leads a vicious racist movement in the French government, uses on a daily basis to harm the interests of the Algerian community living on French soil.

Despite being criticized by his colleagues in the government, led by Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, who more than once asked him to avoid escalating relations with Algeria through his aggressive statements and irresponsible positions, as well as by French government spokeswoman Sophie Prima, who limited the issue of relations with Algeria to the institutions of the French presidency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Retailleau continues to be unconcerned about the consequences of his actions on French interests in Algeria.

Through his illegal practices against travelers with Algerian passports, he violates all the rules and conventions that protect travelers at foreign airports, and such practices only serve to increase tensions between the two countries, contrary to the wishes of the Elysee Palace, as confirmed more than once by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Paris.
