Farmers get 15,000 loans in Algeria

BDL bank’s CEO Boualam Djebbar Tuesday said 15,000 annual loans were granted to farmers in 2016. This is meant to support this sensitive sector, reach self-sufficiency and reduce imports bill. “This new choice enabled to provide the national market with strategic harvests.”

Djebbar said the government bears the responsibility of making local food available. Because of that, BDL bank doubled its efforts to enable the largest number possible of farmers to gain loans.

He added that agricultural real-estate crisis in Algeria will be ended soon.
