Last Friday, the Danish FC Copenhagen announced the extension of the contract of its promising Algerian player, Amin Chiakha, only about two months after his promotion to the club’s first team following his brilliant performance with the youth team last season, amidst increasing media and public interest among Algerians who follow his news in the hope of joining the “Desert Warriors” squad.

At the beginning of the current season, the Danish club decided to promote its promising striker, Amin Chiakha, to the first team, with whom he has played 7 matches so far (one of which was a starter), during which he has not scored any goals. Chiakha is currently undergoing evaluation before deciding on his future, given that his current contract expires in the summer of 2025.

Danish club FC Copenhagen did not hesitate to protect its Algerian talent against the ambitions of many European clubs seeking to sign him, especially since his first contract was extended until the summer of 2025 only, as the Danish club announced through its various official platforms the extension of the player’s contract, who is a candidate to play with the national team soon, until the summer of 2029.

FC Copenhagen published photos of Chiakha in the club’s jersey, with the year 2029 written on it, referring to the period during which he will be associated with the team, and wrote on its official account on “X”: “Amin Chiakha has signed a new contract with FC Copenhagen until 2029.”

Algerian player Amin Chiakha expressed his happiness with his new contract, saying in statements to the club’s website: “I am proud of the new agreement, and there is no doubt that it gives me peace of mind, confidence and support,” adding: “I constantly set myself new goals, and this contract indicates that the club and the coaches believe in me for the future and I am pleased about that.”

“For many years, I have dreamed of playing for FC Copenhagen’s first team, but I have no plans to stop here. Now I have to go and get the chance to play regularly, help the team and continue my development,” Chiakha added.

“I have big dreams for the future, but I also know the dreams don’t come true alone. It takes hard work and patience,” he explained. “There will be ups and downs, but in those times, I have to work on myself, improve and help the team constantly.”

For his part, the Danish club’s sporting director, Sune Smith Nielsen, praised the new agreement with Amin Chiakha, which extends into the distant future. He is a skilled striker with great potential. He continued: “He has shown himself well and has taken the right development steps during his time in the club’s academy and now with the first team. We are certain that we have a great striker here for the future if he continues to work hard.”

In turn, coach Jacob Neestrup confirmed that he is not worried about Chiakha not scoring his first goal with the club despite participating in seven matches so far, and stated in this regard: “It is likely to come soon. Amin is a young striker with high physical fitness, which puts him under strict defensive surveillance.”
