FIFA president Blatter to visit Algeria end of the year
President of the FIFA Joseph Blatter will pay a private visit to Algeria next December, Echorouk sources said.
- Joseph Blatter had met with the head of Algerian Federation of Football Mohamed Raouraoua in Doha during the sidelines of the Convenient Cup.
- According to news from Doha, Blatter officially told president of Algerian Football Federation about his intention to pay a visit to Algeria next December, and Raouraoua told him he is welcome in Algeria.
- Blatter’s visit to Algeria expected to be a beginning of the Swiss electoral campaign that he intends to launch in order to remain at the head of the FIFA for the fourth custody.
- Although the election day of the FIFA is still far away, but news pointed to the possibility that the Qatari Ben Hammem could be elected as head of the FIFA which had made the current FIFA president Blatter launch his campaign prematurely in an attempt to attract the largest number of Arab heads of football federations.
- Blatter will try to gain votes of the head of Algerian Football Federation, particularly since he has relations in the FIFA thing that may help any candidate for the FIFA’s presidency.
- In addition to Blatter’s attempt to gain Algerians sympathy, his campaign will notice the inauguration of the new AFF headquarters IN Dali Brahim, Algiers.
- Blatter is also expected to inspect some sports institutions in Algiers like the school of football in Sidi Moussa, and provide some assistance to build other institutions.
- FIFA president will meet some Algerian officials including the Minister of Youth and Sport and the President of Algerian Olympic Committee.
- Previously, Blatter visited Algeria on February 2002 before moving directly to Bamako in order to attend the Africa Cup of Nations.
