FIFA considered the Egyptian fans’ attack on Algerian players in Cairo and will announce sanctions on Tuesday May 18th, its president Joseph Blatter said Saturday.

“FIFA will announce its decisions on the Egyptian fans’ attack on the Algerian players’ bus on May 18th,” Blatter told Echorouk in Doha.

Asked about the reasons why the FIFA was late in its decisions, he said it was considering the issue deliberately like any other cases.

Blatter also said the FIFA is impartial. “I say to the Algerian people that we considered the case of the attack on the bus of their team deliberately and we were objective.”

He did not make any comments about the sanctions against Egypt, saying “I can not reveal the sanctions because there is a commission in charge of studying the case and we trust it.”

The FIFA postponed the announcement of the sanctions on the Egyptian Football Federation to May after it had been scheduled on April 15th.
