First 100% Algerian insulin will be on the market in a few days

The first 100% Algerian-made insulin, also by an Algerian laboratory, the “Biocar” group, will enter the marketing phase in a few days, and will be in the form of pens intended for all age groups.
Sources familiar with the file told “Echorouk” that Algerian-made insulin will be the focus of a meeting to be held on Friday in the capital Algiers between the laboratories of the “Biocar” group and experts in the health field and doctors specializing in diabetes, dedicated to the central provinces. Representatives from the Ministries of Health and Industry and Pharmaceutical Production are expected to attend, in order to provide clarifications and explanations to experts and doctors regarding this Algerian product, after a similar meeting with pharmacists a few days ago, dedicated to the same purpose.
The eastern province of Setif will also host, on the same day and at the same time, a similar meeting with experts in the health field and doctors specializing in diabetes, which will be directed to the eastern  provinces of Algeria, and another in Oran for the western region of the country.
The same source confirmed that the insulin pen production process is 100% Algerian under the supervision of the laboratories of the “Biocar” group, and is not based on bringing insulin from abroad and filling it in Algeria, a process that comes in line with the efforts of the country’s highest authorities to develop the pharmaceutical  products and the pharmaceutical industry in general, in order to achieve self-sufficiency and optimal care for diabetics and provide them with medicine.
Marketing operations will begin within days according to the available details, starting from the “Biocar” laboratory factories located in Oued Smar district in the capital Algiers, and the product will be gradually distributed to pharmacies nationwide.
According to the details obtained by “Echorouk”, the complete Algerian insulin is intended for all age groups in the form of pens, whether children, adolescents, adults or the elderly, and will be marketed in two formulas.
The first dose of Algerian insulin, according to “Echorouk” sources, is “Bio Rapid,” which will be designated to deal with cases that require a rapid adjustment of the amount of sugar in the patient’s blood. As for the second, called “Biomix,” it is a mixture of fast and slow insulin, and will be directed to cases that require protecting patients from high blood sugar at night.
