This year, for the first time, the National Bureau of Hadj and Umrah managed to reduce the period of residence of the Algerian pilgrims in the Holy Sites for less than a month, because it obtained two trips with a residence that does not exceed 15 days instead of the normal period which is one month, as this procedure has affected some of the trips only for the impossibility of its application to all pilgrims, pending its application on all Algerian pilgrims in the coming years.

According to the head of the Office of Algerian Pilgrims in Medina, Ahmed Sulaimani, the services of the National Bureau of Hajj and Umrah, for the first time managed to get two trips with the system of residence in the holy sites for 15 days instead of the usual period, which was one month.

“Both trips will be received in the end of the first season in Medina to stay for two to three days and leave for Mecca, as this procedure comes after the confirmation of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Mohammed Aissa, that his services will start from next season reducing the length of residence for Algerian pilgrims in the Holy Sites for less than a month, saying: “This procedure will be adopted for the current season for some flights only for the impossibility to apply it to all flights”.

The spokesman said in a statement to the radio that the number of Algerian pilgrims is still continuing towards Medina, as the number of arrivals reached 11436 pilgrims, while others began to leave for Mecca after fulfilling their right to stay in Medina for six nights.

“Out of a total of 41 joint flights between the National Bureau of Hajj and Umrah and travel agencies, number of pilgrims who arrived to Medina as of Sunday reached 11436”.

“There was the transfer of three more flights on Sunday to Mecca, carrying about 797 pilgrims after the transfer of 503 pilgrims on Saturday, bringing the total number of departures to about 1300 pilgrims”.

“Pilgrims expressed their satisfaction with the days they spent in Medina, and show satisfaction of the services they received in Medina by members of the Algerian mission, and this is waiting to go towards Mecca”.

It is known that from the date of August 12, Algerian pilgrims began to leave Medina on the seventh day of their arrival towards Mecca, while the deportations will end to the center of Medina on August,17, as the last group Algerian pilgrims who are heading for the holy sites will be on August, 26, while the first group will return on September 6.
