Former minister: Frenchmen can not bear the fact that Algeria builds the Great Mosque

Algeria’s former religious affairs minister Abu Abdallah Gholamallah said Frenchmen criticize the Great Mosque of Algiers because they can not bear the fact that Algeria achieves such a big project.

The minister also said his ministry organized two international conferences as part of the project. “Architects who criticize the project technical aspects were invited to this event. Yet, they just attended then left. Now, they raise doubts about the project.”

He added that media reports about the project are baseless. “If there was a problem in the project platform, two big neighbouring buildings would not have resisted.”

The minister defended the enterprise in charge of the project, saying it has an international reputation and achievements in all the continents. “It will accomplish its project whatever others say. Algerian people will be proud of the project.”
