Former municipality managers heard by magistrate
The examining magistrate of the court of Boufarik, 40 Kms west of Algiers, has brought into a hearing session 59 individuals involved in cases of corruption and misappropriation including former top officials at the municipality of Staoueli and Zeralda.

An investigation was opened by the national gendarmerie services in 2005 following intelligence over gross misconducts registered in the municipality budget, judicial sources revealed.

Six years after, the investigators have forwarded a complete file to the examining magistrate of the court of Boufarik.

40 among them were charged with over consumption of fuel causing loses worth 25 thousand Euros to the municipality’s treasury.
