Fourth term wins in Algeria

Voting operation was ended on Thursday at 8 pm with turnout of 51.70 percent compared to 74.54 percent in the 2009’s presidential elections. Preliminary reports say president candidate Abdelaziz Bouteflika is likely to be the winner defeating his five competitors with a big difference.

The highest turnout was in the province of Tindouf (south of Algeria) with 87.26 percent followed by Ghilizane (west of Algeria) by 82 percent then Mostaghanem (west of Algeria) by 79.88 percent.

The Kabylie region has the lowest turnout as 20.01 percent was estimated in Tizi Ouzou and 23.58 percent in Bejaia.

According to preliminary estimates, Bouteflika won the highest rate of votes.
