Echorouk asked the French Ambassador, Xavier Driancourt, who visits Setif, east of Algeria, on Mondya, he just said that the events of 8 Mai 1945 were heinous crimes and indeed a historical error, thing that is recognized by the French officials particularly Nicolas Sarkozy who did not hesitate to recognize the criminal nature of the events during his visit to Constantine, east of Algeria, two years ago.

As for the French nuclear tests which were conducted in the Algeria Sahara particularly in Regan during the colonial period, Xavier Driancourt said the French government will compensate the victims of these tests through presenting a draft bill to the French parliament for a final decision, confirming that time has come to open new prospects for the French-Algerian relations, particularly in the common historical memory
