The statement of the French presidency, which followed Emmanuel Macron’s reception of the Prime Minister of the Moroccan regime, Aziz Akhannouch, on the occasion of his attendance at the ceremony of the 80th anniversary of the Provence landings, confirmed what was stated in the study completed by the “World Politics Review” magazine, which concluded that the Kingdom of Morocco is nothing but a protectorate of Western countries that receives support when its “godfathers” feel that the monarchy is on the verge of collapse.

The statement issued by the “Elysée” included a French commitment to defending the national security of the Alawite Kingdom: “The President of the (French) Republic renewed, in this context, France’s commitment to move forward with the Moroccan authorities on the issue of Morocco’s national security,” but without providing further explanations.

However, phrases that preceded the Elysée’s statement removed the ambiguity and confirmed that the French President’s words came in response to the Prime Minister of the Moroccan regime’s thanks to Macron for the decision taken by France regarding the future of Western Sahara after he illegally and immorally sided with the thesis of the Alawite Kingdom, as the Algerian Foreign Ministry commented in due time.

The French President’s talk about his country’s standing by the national security of the Alawite regime means that he is ready to go far with it. Macron did not invent this decision, but it is rather part of the French diplomatic doctrine, and one of the practices inherited from France’s colonial past, which is full of crimes against humanity and genocide in Algeria and even in Western Sahara, which was never a French colony.

This was not just a bidding, but rather a practice confirmed by the current French ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, Christophe Lecourtier, in his lecture last March on French-Moroccan relations, when he said that “France stood with the Kingdom of Morocco from the beginning without hesitation in the field of armament, and even the French armed forces opened fire and intervened against the Polisario Front. When Morocco was isolated at the United Nations, we used our permanent membership in the Security Council for the benefit of Rabat, when Morocco proposed the plan for autonomy in Western Sahara, we were among the first to say that it was a good solution.”

However, despite this past full of French collusion with the Alawite regime, Macron has not given up on rapprochement with Algeria, as the former French ambassador to Algeria, Xavier Driencourt, said. He bargained with it for more than seven years (since 2017) to obtain concessions and gains, politically, economically, and culturally, but he failed, while the Moroccan regime resisted only for seven months before relinquishing everything to Paris in exchange for the letter addressed to the Moroccan King Mohammed VI on last July 30.

The protection that the Moroccan regime enjoyed from the countries of the Western system was nothing but a return for the required roles that it always performed successfully, among them, even the ugliest of them, is its sacrifice of the Palestinian cause, its shameful normalization with the Zionist entity, and its silence on the barbaric and brutal aggression of the occupation army against civilians in the Gaza Strip. As well as receiving Zionist ships in Moroccan ports to refuel them and give them everything they needed, a role that its northern neighbour Spain refused when it expelled those ships from its ports. All of this happens at a time when the Kingdom of the “Emir of the Faithful” claims that it heads a body called the “Jerusalem Committee.”

The Kingdom of Morocco is considered merely a functional state that performs the roles required of it in the Arab and Islamic regions, geopolitical and regional decisions are usually dictated to it by its godfathers, in exchange for providing it with protection, which has been strengthened, as is known, since the great imbalance between it and Algeria on the military level in particular, based on a briefing to the French Parliament.
