French authorities decided to adopt new facilities of the “Visa Schengen” requests, for the Algerians who wish to travel to France, starting from April, as the French embassy in Algeria received, this weekend, instructions to reduce the cases of refusal to grant French visas to the limits of 10% only, with a short period for obtaining repose to 6 days instead of 10 days.

Sources from the French consulate in Algiers told Echorouk that the instruction that was sent by the French authorities to its embassy in Algeria, is part of the facilities that were approved to enable the largest number of Algerians, to travel to France, as it also aims to reduce the number of cases of refusal to grant a visa to the limit of 10%, after it exceeded 27% in 2016, in addition to making the allowed time for the tourists to stay longer in the receiving country, between 6 months to 5 years.

French Foreign Ministry also ordered, in its instruction, to shorten the duration of response to visa application, from 10 to 6 days, especially after the recent actions that were taken regarding the enabling of Algerians, who have an expired visas, to renew them without going through the traditional procedure to obtain a rendez-vous via TLS Contact website, with the abolition of some of the documents and inclusion of other new documents.

The new procedure, which will come into force, starting from April, will raise the quota of Algerians to obtain “Schengen Visas” especially, after the last French report that was prepared by the non-governmental organization CIMADE, that defends the rights of migrants, and which revealed significant excesses against Algerians who ask for visas to enter to France, including the failure to provide a justification for the reasons for the rejection, which is the largest comparing it with the rest of the French consulates in the world.
