Education Minister recently included the French language as a mandatory module in the exams for upgrading headmasters and principals, after it took the decision to make it compulsory in the competitions for teachers’ recruitment, although it was considered optional in the past years like the English language, Echorouk sources said.

The same sources added that the Education Ministry included the French language in the education competitions for the administrative staff of educational institutions like headmasters and principals.

“Consequently, they are obliged to pass it along with three other modules like psychology, school legislation and general. Education Ministry developed it as an exclusionary module, and therefore, any candidate who can not obtain 10/20 and above will fail even if he/she will got good and excellent marks in the rest of the modules.

Previously, the Education Ministry imposed the necessity of sitting for the French language exam in the framework of supporting its project, which is making the “public school” a French institution, although the French language was in the past years listed as an optional module like the English language.
