Fuel Consumption To Be Set By The End of 2016

Cars of all Algerians will be under surveillance before the end of the current year, after the Interior and Energy Ministries started to set the final procedures to determine the consumption of fuel for each vehicle, through the slide that will be included in the gray electronic card.

Drivers will be forced to enter the punctuation card at each station to buy the fuel, because the slide contains the number of quantities that will be consumed, at a time the “wasters” who exceed the ceiling will face financial fines, and fuel smugglers will not escape from the security services’ control.

Person in charge of Studies and Summarizing at the Interior and Local Groups Ministry, Ilyas Mohieddine, said, during a press conference at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Modernization in Algiers Dali Ibrahim, that the new gray electronic card will contain the vehicles’ numbering, and the electronic and biometric driving licence, which will enter into force before the end of the current year.

“This new electronic system will allow the monitoring of traffic electronically, from a database that was installed at the level of the Interior Ministry and its connection with several ministries”.

“Biometric gray card includes a new formula for cars’ numbering plates that is composed of numbers and letters. This new version of the numbering panels will continue with vehicles permanently throughout its presence into the service.”

“This card contains a SIM with applications for examining and previewing the vehicles, as well as insurance, in particular, the amount of fuel that is consumed by the citizen, and the development of statistics on cities and provinces that consume the larger amount of fuel or even smugglers.”

“Biometric and electronic driving license contains a SIM card with an application that allows the use of an automatic and electronic point system”.

“Offenders can pay the fines which will be in the form of points in an electronic and timely manner, through the electronic readers.”

The official refused to talk about the cost of the biometric driver’s license and the cars’ numbering card, at the present time he asserted that the supplementary finance bill will determine the cost that will be paid by the citizen to obtain the biometric driving license.
