Tunisians fear of a possible security unrest and repeated similar scenarios, Secretary-General of Annahda Movement Fateh Rabiei said, in allusion to the Algerian experience during the black decade.

Rabiei quoted Rached Ghenouchi, leader of the Tunisian Annahda movement, who is back after a surgery in Tunis, as saying that the situation is worrying for the Tunisians after the emergence of extremist movements like “Ansar Acharia”.

He spoke about events which reflect the tension between various parties of the society, as a university professor and another worker were subject to an attack in the same time at university.

“Professors and workers fear the repetition of such unwanted scenarios, as the brotherhood are willing to face the challenges. There is a coordination between Annahda movement and other Tunisian parties in some Arab countries to face the challenges”.

Concerning the situation inside the country, in light of the absence of the President Bouteflika, which exceeds one month, Rabiei added that Bouteflika’s absence affects the conduct of institutions because this latter is not built on solid bases, and are not emanating from the people’s will.

“Unfortunately, Algeria is not ruled by institutions or the state of justice and law, therefor the absence of the president, who is the workable device has an impact on the conduct of institutions. We call upon officials to deal in transparency with the subject of his illness, considering it a moral position away from the language of exploitation, revenge or prejudice to sovereignty and national unity”.
