Gaddafi Was To Provide Money and Arms To The GIA, Document
The Emir of the exterminated Islamist Armed Group (GIA), Antar Zouabri, eliminated in 2002, was about to meet Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to seek financial and arm support, revealed a rare copy of the terror group’s newsletter issued in 1996, of which Echorouk got a copy.
The newsletter included an interview with Zouabri, where he justified the crimes perpetuated against innocent civilians, supported by “fatwa” issued by Omar Mahmoud, and Abu Katada.
The document reads that the so called Mahfoud Tadjine, a former senior member in the GIA, had sent a group of men to Lebanon and Syria to get training there.
Yet, Tadjine had proposed on the leader of the GIA to meet with Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, in bid to seek financial and arms support to the group.
The source mentioned that Tadjine managed, during his trips to Syria and Lebanon, to meet some Libyan intelligence officials working at the Libyan embassies in Damascus and Beirut, and agreed with them to set more coordination. The document does not provide further details on this topic.
