The National Gendarmerie forces have recently dismantled an international network of smuggling luxury stolen cars, Echorouk has learnt.
After smuggling cars, the network sells them in car markets using fake documents.
According to the same sources, four criminals were arrested in the province of Setif. Their network operated in European countries such as France and Italy. They brought stolen cars to Algeria before selling them in ordinary car markets.
The suspects told investigators some mine engineers were involved in the crime. Documents of eight luxury cars were settled illegally with the help of engineers.
The same sources said the investigation is still under way as a large number of mine engineers may be involved.
